Sword Slash Studio is a small independent game studio based in Australia. This policy explains what personal information we collect through swordslashstudio.com.au and its subdomains (such as the Nook Beasts wiki), why, and what you can do about it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
What we collect
We only collect what you choose to send us, plus the minimum technical data needed to run the site.
- Contact form. Your name, email address, the type of enquiry, the subject and your message.
- Technical data. Your IP address, used briefly to stop the contact form being spammed (see below), and the standard request logs our hosting provider keeps.
We do not run analytics, advertising or tracking scripts, and the site has no user accounts. The Nook Beasts wiki has no forms and collects nothing beyond our hosting provider's request logs.
How we use it
- To read and reply to your message.
- To protect the contact form from abuse. Your IP address is held in server memory to limit how many messages can be sent in 24 hours, and is discarded after that.
- To keep the site running and secure.
We never sell your personal information or use it for advertising.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site:
- Web3Forms delivers contact form messages to our inbox.
- Vercel hosts the site and keeps request logs.
These providers may store data outside Australia, including in the United States. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Our games and Steam
Our games are sold through Steam. Purchases, your Steam account and anything Steam records about how you play are handled by Valve under the Steam Privacy Policy.
Embedded content and links
Some pages embed trailers from YouTube, and we link to Steam, Discord, YouTube, X (Twitter) and Instagram. Those services have their own privacy policies and may collect data when you play an embedded video or follow a link. See our Cookie Policy for more.
How long we keep it
Messages you send us stay in our email for as long as we need them to deal with your enquiry and keep reasonable business records. Ask us and we'll delete them.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing business@swordslashstudio.com.au. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, contact us first and we will try to put it right. You can also complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
Children
Our website is not aimed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us their details, let us know and we will delete them.
Changes
If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top.
